Which taxi do you need? A passenger & luggage guide
From a local ride to a family airport transfer, choose a vehicle with room for everyone and everything you are bringing.

Choosing a taxi is about both seats and luggage space. Four passengers with small bags have different needs from four passengers carrying several suitcases. Before you book, count everyone travelling and list everything you need to take.
Compare passenger and luggage space
Use our guide below to start planning. Case sizes and shapes vary, so tell the team about large bags, pushchairs, wheelchairs or other bulky items when you enquire.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage guide |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | Up to 4 | 3 cases + 2 holdalls |
| Estate | Up to 4 | 4 cases + 2 holdalls |
| MPV | 4 | 6 cases |
| MPV | 6 | 2 cases |
| 8-seater minibus | Up to 8 | 8 large suitcases + 4 holdalls |
Saloon or estate: what is the difference?
A saloon is a practical option for everyday travel and airport transfers. If you have more luggage, an estate offers extra boot space while keeping the same passenger capacity of up to four.
For example, a party of four with four cases and two holdalls should ask about an estate when arranging the journey. Share the luggage details before booking so the team can check the right vehicle.
MPV travel: seats and luggage work together
An MPV gives you options, but its available luggage space changes with the passenger count. Our guide is six cases with four passengers, or two cases with six passengers. If your group needs more seats and more luggage space at the same time, ask us about a minibus.
The useful detail to share: “We are six passengers with six suitcases” tells us much more than “We need a six-seater.” That helps us discuss a suitable vehicle before your journey.
Keep your group together in an 8-seater
Our 8-seater minibuses are an option for families, larger groups and airport journeys. The luggage guide is eight large suitcases plus four holdalls. Tell us about any additional items or collection stops when you enquire.
What to tell us when booking
- The total number of passengers.
- The number of cases and holdalls, including their approximate sizes.
- Any pushchairs, mobility equipment or unusually shaped items.
- Your pickup address, destination, travel date and any extra stops.
- Any child-seat or accessibility arrangements you would like to discuss.
Browse our fleet to see the vehicle options, then confirm passenger and luggage details with our team. For airport journeys, compare the Maidstone fares, Tonbridge & Malling fares or Ashford fares.
